Code of Business Ethics
This Code of Business Ethics applies to all mandates WE are entrusted with.
Because of the nature of our business, WE are conscious of the need to comply with the highest levels of business ethics and personal integrity, at all times.
1. Respect
WE cover the GCC and the MENA region and WE tend to visit with families in their countries of residence. WE acknowledge that We are guests in these countries. WE undertake to (i) learn about and abide by all applicable laws, (ii) be respectful of local and other cultures, customs, values and religious sensitivities, and (iii) protect the physical and social environment in which WE work and live.
2. Conflicts of Interest.
A conflict of interest exists when a person’s private interests interfere in any way with the interests of our clients. A conflict can arise when WE take actions or have interests that may make it difficult for US to perform our duties objectively and efficiently. Conflicts of interest may also arise when WE, or a member of our family, receives personal benefits (e.g. gift, loan, service, no matter the monetary value thereof) as a result of their relationship with US. It is a conflict of interest for a Team Member to work simultaneously for US and/or for a competitor, or a client, or service provider with whom WE work.
3. Privileged Information.
WE recognize that WE are trusted advisors and that when WE work with ‘Families’, WE often become privy to intimate, personal, financial, and other privileged and confidential information. WE undertake to keep such information private and confidential, unless otherwise directed in writing by our client.
4. Confidential Information.
WE are members of the Quebec Bar and as such WE undertake to keep all information that is made available to US private and confidential, except as otherwise directed by a court of law. The obligation to preserve all such information as confidential shall be in perpetuity and shall survive the termination of any contractual relationship WE may have with a given client.
5. Fairness.
WE undertake to behave honestly and ethically at all times and towards all people. WE endeavor not to take unfair advantage of anyone through manipulation, concealment, abuse of privileged information, misrepresentation of material facts or any other unfair practice.
6. Gifts.
We charge fees in consideration for services rendered. We do not receive or offer commissions. WE acknowledge that the purpose of business entertainment and gifts in a commercial setting is to create good will and sound working relationships. WE do not offer or accept any gifts, monetary or otherwise from any client.
7. Insider Trading.
WE recognize that from time to time WE shall have access to client privileged information. WE undertake not to use or share any such information for stock trading purposes or for any other purpose, For the avoidance of doubt, WE confirm that at this date WE do not trade on any stock market nor do WE own any equity portfolio, either directly or indirectly.
