The Chiniara Foundation, for the study and advancement of the ‘Law’ in matters pertaining to family business succession planning has been established to complement the work undertaken to date by business and management schools.

In a global and increasingly interconnected world, families in business have been systematically expanding their activities beyond their borders. Since its introduction in the mid-1980s, most of the literature dealing with family business concepts has been the private turf of business and management schools across North America and Europe. As a result, a number of legal issues have been sidelined and/or neglected that are of paramount interest to international business families.

 

The Chiniara Foundation intends to remedy this situation. Its ambition is to team up with law schools and with other scholars, and legal, management, and tax professionals from around the world, to devise solutions that will address the needs of international families.
